Jasper County Democratic Central Committee

While Committee meetings are open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend, Committee Members are elected officials who represent their precinct and Jasper Co. in the chain of political subdivisions that make up the statewide systems for both the Democrat and Republican parties. Every county should have both a Democrat Committee and a Republican Committee.

To become a Committee Member, you must have lived in your precinct and been a registered voter there for one year. You may be elected by filing during the filing period pertinent to any candidate prior to a Primary Election, every two years. Or, you may be elected by the standing Committee at any time. If you are unsure about what Precinct you live in, that information should be on the front of your Voter Registration Card. Your Legislative District information should also be on this card, as well as your polling place.

The Jasper Co. Democratic Central Committee is made up of 74 Precincts. Each Precinct is allowed 2 Committee People, one male and one female, totaling 148 Committee positions.
