Hinkle Ace Hardward in Webb City and the "Tea Party"
To all Joplin Area Democrats and Liberals,
Hinkle Ace Hardware in Webb City on Madison Ave. had an advertisement for the "Tea Party" on 4th street on there Electronic Sign on April 15th. Our Obama Neighborhood Team Webb City Warriors decided to call them to let them know that the unfortunate decision to advertise such a Right Wing Extremest event, will prevent us from shopping at their store in the future. I was a regular customer of Hinkle Hardware and let them know that when I called to speak to their manager John. I was very polite and said "I find it unfortunate that you choose to advertise an extremist event like the local "tea party" on your sign and it will prevent me from shopping at your store in the future". He asked me why I considered it an extremist event. I when on to tell him that it is being promoted by people such as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck in an extremist way. He then asked me if I voted for Obama. I told him yes of course and that I was a neighborhood team leader for the Obama Campaign and there were many more Obama supporters in the Webb City area. He replied by saying "well then bye" and hanging up on me!
These actions of course further convince me that the "Tea Party" is an extremist notion. If they at Hinkle Hardware can not even be civil to a person that voted for and worked for our President during the election, perhaps they need to have calls from all of us, explaining to them why we can no longer shop there.
