SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Missouri’s 2010 Senate contest is an open-seat race, but you’d hardly know it from the campaign that Democrat Robin Carnahan is running.

For the past seven months, she’s followed something akin to an incumbent’s strategy, keeping a low profile, refraining from making much news and mostly ignoring GOP challenges and demands. It’s a stay-above-the-fray approach that is frustrating and befuddling Missouri Republicans and their likely 2010 nominee, Rep. Roy Blunt.

Well for a number of reasons 1) she is smart and reasonable, 2) she is not Roy Blunt. I could think of more but do you really need more?

I'm not sure it's so smart. It means she's a glyph. Why should we vote for her anyway?
